An Evening with Theaster Gates


Theaster Gates, an award-winning Chicago potter and artist who blends art installation with social practice, has gained renown for turning abandoned buildings in run-down neighborhoods into vibrant cultural hubs serving the community. He will discuss arts and culture as catalysts for social transformation and renewal of place and community.

The lecture series, established in memory of Emory's 14th president, is sponsored by the DVS Senior Honor Society and the President's Office.

The event is FREE, but TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ENTRY. LIMIT 2 PER PERSON.

BEGINNING JANUARY 11TH AT 10AM, TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE at the Arts at Emory Box Office, by phone at 404.727.5050, or online at tickets.arts.edu.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TICKET DELIVERY: All phone and online orders will NOT be mailed. While purchasing tickets online, the patron will be prompted to select having tickets mailed or placed in will call. If the patron selects the tickets to be mailed, this request will not be fulfilled. All online and phone order tickets will be placed in will call. Tickets may be picked up during regular box office hours, Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm or at will call beginning 1 hour prior to the event.
