St. Cecilia is the patron saint of musicians. The British poet W. H. Auden wrote an extraordinary poem that asks the saint to "appear in visions to all musicians," inspiring them with "immortal fire." The great British composer Benjamin Britten set this poem to music in his Hymn to St. Cecilia. In this final concert of the season, we give thanks for the many things that inspire us and fire our imagination.
